DR JEAN HAYES, licensed Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist, maintains a Private Practice in Novato, California, specializing in counseling with individuals, couples, families, children, teenagers, and groups.
Since 1973, I have been the Program and/or Clinical Director of a number of Bay Area residential, in-patient and out-patient alcohol, drug, eating disorder, and dual-diagnosis programs. I have taught psychology and family therapy course work at College of Marin, Dominican University, San Francisco State University, The Family Therapy Institute, and The Graduate Theological Union. I have consulted with such major organizations, as Levi Straus and Hewlett-Packard and conducted workshops in alcohol, drug abuse, eating disorders, and mental illness. At Managed Health Network, I assisted managers in dealing with a multitude of employee mental health issues and concerns. As a Trainer for MHN, I conduct workshops on Stress Management, Substance Abuse, and employee Health and Well-Being. I was the Program Director and Supervisor of the Schools Project at the Community Institute for Psychotherapy where I supervised and trained interns who were getting hours for their Marriage and Family license by learning to counsel students and families in Marin County schools- elementary, middle, and high school. Also, through the Center for Creative Growth, in Berkeley, California, John Bradshaw's former Bay Area counseling affiliate, I counsel individuals, couples, families, and children from Marin and Sonoma Counties. I conducted Psycho-educational groups for adults and families in Marin County and San Francisco. As a certified Equine Mental Health Psychoherapist, I provide therapy using horses and unique and friendly farm animals when requested, for personal growth, psychological insight, and education.
